Canadian grade 8 students demonstrate continuous positive results in reading, math and science

June 14, 2018 - The Pan-Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP) released their latest report detailing the achievement levels of Canadian Grade 8 students in reading, mathematics and science in 2016.

The results show positive significant changes in the performance demonstrated by Canadian grade 8 students (also known as Secondary II in Quebec). Some notable results include:

  • In each Canadian province, over 80% of students achieved the expected level of performance in reading.
  • In mathematics, there were significant improvements in achievement in Canada.
  • The highest scores in mathematics and science were achieved by students in Quebec and Alberta, respectively.
