Canadian cities offer a quality of life unrivaled in North America: Mercer’s Quality of Living Survey
September 3, 2019 – Vancouver, British Columbia topped the list of Canadian cities on Mercer’s 2019 Quality of Living Survey. This coastal city was named the third best city in the world to live overall.
The survey ranked hundreds of cities around the world based on criteria such as recreation and housing, economic environment, political and social environment, school and education, public services and transport, and more. Four other Canadian cities – Toronto (16th), Ottawa (19th), Montreal (21st) and Calgary (32nd) – placed higher than any other cities in North America. The highest-ranking U.S. city was San Francisco in 34th place.
The Mercer’s Survey highlighted the global reputation of Canadian cities as safe, inclusive and affordable. Their strong economies and diverse employment prospects made them attractive places to study and live.
