Deadline approaching: Flight PS752 Commemorative Scholarship Program
June 5, 2025 - Global Affairs Canada’s Flight PS752 Commemorative Scholarship is accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The scholarship program honours those who tragically lost their lives in the downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 on January 8, 2020. Fifty-five Canadian citizens and 30 permanent residents were among the 176 people killed in this tragedy. Among these victims were brilliant minds and dedicated students who made significant contributions to Canadian educational institutions.
Following the wishes of their loved ones and to honour the legacy of every single victim, Canada’s Flight PS752 Commemorative Scholarship Program is disbursing 176 scholarships over 5 years. Scholarships average $25,000 and are intended to cover expenses for one school year.
To date, 68 scholarships have been awarded to eligible recipients, including Canadian and international doctoral, graduate, undergraduate and college students studying at post-secondary institutions across Canada. Recipients come from a wide range of educational programs, from business administration to engineering to health sciences.
