"I participated in the Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program in 2024. My activities took place at the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia.

The focus of my work was both research and teaching. I collaborated with faculty and graduate students on animal welfare research projects, provided training on research methodologies, and participated in academic events, including keynote lectures and roundtables.

This program significantly supported my academic and professional goals by strengthening international collaborations and expanding my research network. It allowed me to engage deeply with students and faculty at the host institution, and to explore new research directions that align with my expertise.

The experience had a meaningful impact on both institutions. The University of Antioquia fostered knowledge exchange and mentorship opportunities. The University of Calgary initiated the process of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize ongoing collaboration. This MoU was successfully established after the program and now serves as a foundation for future faculty and student exchanges, as well as joint research initiatives between institutions.

As a result of this program, we have developed new research projects, initiated discussions for student and faculty exchange programs, and formalized our institutional collaboration. This experience has laid the foundation for long-term partnerships and has already led to tangible academic outputs."
